Full “Hunter’s” Moon in Aries

Courage, passion and preparation.

If there is a month that feels synonymous with a full moon, it is that of October. Folklore and myths passed down through centuries have instilled in us a sense of magic and mystery, creating an inherent eeriness that lingers around us. The natural world has a chill in the air with stick silhouettes starting to appear against the night sky where leaves once created canopies. We feel the veil thinning between worlds as we move deeper into the season where we’re accompanied by supernatural companions and spirits of days gone by.

It is this month that we welcome the Full Moon in Aries, also known as the Hunter’s Moon, taking place on October 17 at 7:26am EST as the largest supermoon of the year.

Aries, the cardinal fire sign ruled by Mars, is the initiator of the zodiac year. It symbolizes courage, confidence and passion, and reminds us that we are capable of empowering ourselves in this world with a determined energy. It is an invitation to be bold, to face our fears and to confront the shadow parts of ourselves that often remain unseen.

It is an invitation to do as hunters do when they step out into the darkness of the wild, unsure of what lies beyond the shadows, while also knowing that they must face the unknown in order to gather resources, prepare for the season ahead and secure their survival.

As we look up to see this moon reflecting its light back to us, how can you turn your fears into fuel? How can you find curiosity in the unknown and magic in the mystery? And how can you confidently move forward in the journey to understand it?
