Pisces Season

Welcoming in the mutable water sign of the zodiac.

Welcome to Pisces Season - the twelfth and final sign of the zodiac, signaling the last stages of the astrological year and the final dreamy transition between endings and new beginnings.

Pisces is the mutable water sign of the zodiac. Its mutability and free-flowing energy that ushers us through the final stages of winter to spring and from one astrological year to another, giving us a last chance to let go of anything that’s been holding on from the previous season and previous year. To honor all that has been and to make space for what’s to come. The final days to settle in deep while we let the heart explore and reflect before we welcome a new energy which drives us forward.

In the northern hemisphere, we start the season in the typical throes of winter… but as we make our way through, there's a noticeable shift. We notice that things feel a bit lighter after the cool and dark days of winter. We notice that the birds are starting to chirp a bit louder, we notice the patches of snow becoming fewer, we notice that the days are getting longer and that the earliest signs of spring are starting to not only show, but take hold.

We notice the transitions around us… the softening within us. Ready for something new… and opening ourselves to the possibilities that come with enhanced creativity, imagination, artistry, intuition and tenderness… all of which are the outcomes of taking the time over winter to rest and reset.

For myself and the farm, it’s about embracing the final days of calm before the season goes into full swing. It’s about gratitude for the time I’ve had to slow down…the intentional time I’ve taken to let the farm, and myself, rest this winter.

It’s about paying attention to the creative inspiration that comes to mind, the sparks of insight and the dreams that flow to me…while taking note of what they all feel like in relation to the mission of this farm. Knowing that some will stick and some were meant to pass…honoring the fluidity, flexibility and the ability to shift as it makes sense.
